The Agricultural Integrated Produce City is an innovative and ambitious initiative that aims to establish a state-of-the-art commodity exchange focused on agricultural products. This project will provide a platform where farmers, agribusinesses, and other stakeholders can efficiently trade agricultural commodities, resulting in increased market access, improved price discovery mechanisms, and enhanced transparency in the sector.

The AIPC Concept believes that the farmer and the consumer are the most critical and equally most vulnerable players in the Agric value chain. We believe that for Agriculture to be a business for the farmer, the farmer must have three basic opportunities: (1) Full disposal of his produce with less than 5% post-harvest losses. (2) Profit after sales and (3) increased access to capital.

The concept via the wholesale produce market attracts 4 major buying groups that will give the farmer a full disposal opportunity, namely: (1) wholesalers who now include retail/hotel chains, (2) processors in the industrial park next door and those outside the park, (3) exporters operating within the AIPC export center and outside the export center and also driers within AIPC with their huge capacity The market offers a near direct interface between the farmers and each of these major buying groups.

The system-based ready and easy market and Preservation Park within AIPC ensure a reduction of about 35% in post-harvest perishable losses from the 40% industrial average in Nigeria. This boosts the farmers’ revenue/profit (by about the same percentage) and is a great encouragement for the farmers to increase production while the trading platform operations ensure the farmer gets the highest possible price while dealing directly with the processors, exporters, and retail chains (by cutting off the layers of middlemen who distort the price and suppress the farmers selling price. For the processor and exporter, this helps them in inventory management and increased capacity utilization and availability of good quality graded produce.
